Come learn the off-ice fundamentals that  keep your mind and body progressing even with no ice in sight!

Utilizing fitness and mental skills aren't just for elite skaters, but for any skater looking to improve their skills and prevent injuries. Skaters who use these techniques learn and maintain their on-ice skills faster. From warm-ups to technique to performance anxiety, this workshop is designed to cover the basics of training - off the ice!

INJURY PREVENTION TRAINING

With proper training and management, skaters can work to decrease the chance of injury while and improve their performance!

In this workshop skaters will develop their own injury prevention workout to do at home, as well as participating in effective conditioning and flexibility classes. Skaters will also have the opportunity to participate in fitness assessments which could identify a predisposition to injury. In the classroom, skaters will be working through anxiety management techniques which they can apply when an injury happens or in their regular skating process.

Some clubs experience a great deal of trouble when implementing off-ice training classes - this can be caused my many factors like finances, coach education, logistics or instructors. Other clubs may have a fully functioning off-ice training plan, but it may just not be getting the intended results.
